Fajardo Fishing Reports
Fajardo Fishing Report
Fishing in Fajardo remains steady and rewarding, thanks to calm seas and clear water along Puerto Rico’s northeast coast. Both inshore and offshore conditions have been favorable, making it a great time for anglers of all experience levels to get out on the water. The area's diverse marine environment continues to support a wide range of species, keeping the action consistent throughout the season.
Recent catches have included Mahi Mahi, Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, and several Grouper and Snapper varieties. The reefs near the Spanish Virgin Islands are especially productive right now, with anglers landing Red Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, and even Goliath Grouper. Offshore waters have been yielding solid runs of pelagic fish, giving anglers the chance to hook into something big. Reports suggest strong activity during early morning hours and again later in the afternoon.
Fishing is generally productive throughout the day, but planning your trip around those peak bite times can increase your odds of success. Weather patterns have remained stable with warm water temperatures, adding to the consistency. Whether you're trolling offshore or diving the reefs, the variety of fish available makes for a well-rounded fishing experience.
If you're planning a trip, remember that a valid Puerto Rico fishing license is required. Most charter operators, including Caribbean Reef Charters, can assist with this and will provide all the necessary gear. You're welcome to bring your own equipment if you prefer, but everything from rods to spearfishing gear is available onboard.
